NewPro Eco Graffiti Removal
without Surface Damage as well as
removing Acryl Waterpaints, Felt Tip Pen Strokes, Silicone and Adhesion Residue and Fitting Foam Glue (Polyurethane foam)
Introduction
The goal and desired result in graffiti removal is that graffiti smears are completely removed without any damage to the facade or the construction materials.
With this ecological graffiti removal, mechanical or chemical procedures are combined for an ecologically safe removal.
This paint solvent is developed from plant oils and actively works on the surface. It loosens the surface tension of the paint and breaks it up so that the paint solvent is able to permeate deeply into the capillaries of the surface.
Apply the paint solvent (remover), allow a short time for the solvent to take effect, and as soon as an “orange peel” layer forms, the paint (graffiti) is dissolved.
The binding adhesives (emulsifying agent) in the paints, lacquers and paint materials are dissolved and separated.
The dissolved paints can then be washed off using a high-pressure cleaner (applying moderate pressure) and hot water. The pressure should only be applied to the surface. The temperature of the water is more decisive than the level of pressure for the removal. Hot water is more effective because the graffiti paint consists, in part, of grease/oils and the solvent (remover) contains plant oils as well. The temperature of the water applied to the wall should be at least +37° (the melting point of grease and oils). The ideal water temperature lies between 60° und 90 °C.
Because every layer and subsequent dried paint coating, for example silicon paints (most often used facade paints), has its own surface tension, it is now possible using instinct and experience to wash every single paint coating off separately. Through the separate washings of the individual paint coatings/layers and the moderate pressure of a high-pressure cleaner, graffiti can be removed without damage to the construction materials. Damage to the surface only occurs when the pressure applied to the surface is too high.
The high pressure cleaner should be applied to porous surfaces because the spray of the high pressure cleaner works more effectively on porous surfaces. The cleaning should be done from the bottom to the top of the structure equally in a cross bracing method.
It is important to make sure that the solids of the paints are separated or removed prior to beginning the washing process. This can be laying out a felt mat or, for larger surfaces, with a three chamber system, which the high pressure cleaner is connected to. The resulting wastewater should have a pH-value between 6.5 and 9.
For porous surfaces, do not rub off paints using a brush, because the dissolved paint materials or separated pigments can be rubbed into the capillaries so that the surface becomes even more smeared.
For smooth surfaces the use of a high pressure cleaner is not necessary because the remover works really well with the use of hot water and a sponge or towel.
The effect of the paint solvent (remover) can be interrupted at any time by washing off the cleaned surface using hot water and the spray cleaner as a neutralizer. This must be applied every time as a concluding procedure in the application of the ecological graffiti remover. This this finalizing procedures guarantees that also all the remaining deposits of the paints and remover are cleaned off of the facade/surface, which concludes the removal process.
Every graffiti smear should be removed immediately, so that the paints are not able to cause any damage to the surface and also so that the graffiti sprayer/artist loses his/ her motivation to continue spraying. The motivation is dampened because the graffiti artist intends to have his graffiti work available for public viewing over a longer time.
The NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER (Component A)
is - a heterogenic mixture of different aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons which works as excellent solvent. - especially ecologically friendly. - more effective and economical than comparable removers due to its high ability for solutionsIs qualified for
the elimination of all different kinds of paint; water based, alkali or organic solvent paints.Consistence
The NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER (Component A) consists of vegetable oils, lactates and polyvalent alcohols.Application Areas
Dissolving and removing of different paints of plastic cords, acrylic and water based colors or of stains resulting from markers as well as graffiti on PE-, stone- or glass-surfaces. Since there are no highly ecologically harmful solvents in the NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER, it can be used indoors and outdoors. In case of a removal of coatings on PVC-surfaces for instance, appropriate ventilation is necessary. The NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER is not intended for PET-plastics and powder-coatings.Application
Depending on the age and intensity of the deposition or rather containment, the coating is thinly applied with a high-pressure sprayer. After a reaction the surface has to be cleaned with either a high-pressure cleaner or least 37° C hot water (measured on the surface). The paint can be directly removed on a smooth surface with a towel or a cloth. If necessary you have to repeat the process.Afterwards the process has to be repeated with the NEWPRO NEUTRALISER (Component B) to assure the end of the reaction of the first remover A.
The NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER (Component A) is a new development based on vegetable oils. It is a purely natural product, highly effective, friendly in handling and application and without any negative influence on the environment.
For graffiti elimination you must spray about 100 ml on 1 m² Graffiti scribbling. The time of contact varies and depends on the surface and the amount of color between 1 and 10 minutes, whereas in between you can examine as far as possible the color is dissolved. After this you can begin the process of cleaning from bottom to top and over all with a high pressure cleaner or a hot water sprayer.
Use hot water because the solubility of fat is better at high temperatures (melting point of fat 37°C). Hence it is easier to eliminate the residual materials of the color. Make sure, that the residual materials don’t enter drains or watercourses. You can clean up by using absorbent materials or in a professional way by using a commercial three-stage-system with a high-pressure cleaner.
After this cleaning process an after-treatment with NewPro ECO-Neutralisator (Component B) is necessary to ensure that any remains of NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER (component A) lose their activity. This wastewater can (if it is neutral pH = 7) enter drains or watercourses of the canalization.
Our NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER (Component A) shows excellent properties in great ranges, where we had before to use stripping paint pastes. NEWPRO ECO-REMOVER (Component A) as a biological dissolver can substitute these pastes.
