- Developed by Professor Dr. Mang, FH Aachen |
|
A
Liquid-application removable plastic film designed to protect sensitive surfaces.

Product
Description
Wherever surfaces need to be
temporarily protected from soiling, fouling, staining or other contamination or
must be protected from the damaging effects of substances or materials, the
environmentally safe, water-based liquid plastic film is the method of choice.
Although developed mainly for building construction and carpentry (e.g. to
protect windows during plastering of walls or varnishing or painting window
frames), it can also be used in the automobile and aircraft industry during
painting or varnishing. |

Range
of Application/Appropriate Surfaces
Rather than dealing with the
inconvenience of masking tape during renovations, the liquid foil is applied
with a brush to the surface area and, within approximately 5 minutes, a
protecting/masking foil forms. The surfaces are not impaired by the liquid foil.
For untreated wood a specially developed product is available, which ensures
that no change to the surface of the wood occurs.
Example of Applied Coating of
Liquid Folio:

Coating over a glass roof in the
city center of Frankfurt am Main.

Application
There are no problems concerning
operational health and safety: A firm foil forms (after approximately 5 minutes)
only through the evaporation of water, which protects the surface from
weathering and aggressive chemicals such as acids, caustic solutions or organic
substances. The film can be removed from the surface in one piece and disposed
of at any time. A distinctive characteristic of the product in comparison to
similar products is the relatively long durability of the foil even after strong
sun exposure: it can still be removed from the surface in one piece for up to 8
weeks. Furthermore, the liquid foil can be used to impregnate permeable
materials such as fabric materials, cloths or leathers. The product is used by
leading manufacturers of automobiles in automobile interiors as a coating on the
backing of leathers.
|
|
Durability/Shelf Life
The product
offers long lasting durability and easy removal in a single piece, even after
exposure to intense sunlight, for up to 8 weeks. The shelf life of the liquid
foil is approximately 6 months.
|
|
Removal/Disposal
The environmentally safe
foil can be easily removed from the surface in a single piece at any time and
disposed of in the waste.
Special refuse disposal is
not necessary.
