Open-porous stone surfaces react sensitively to fats, oils and other dirt deposits, which easily penetrate these surfaces. The raw surfaces deeply absorb these pollutants, which lead to unattractive and clearly visible stains and soiling.  Even with intensive cleaning such persistent stains cannot be removed. A long-lasting stain and dirt-deflecting protection is, therefore, required for these surfaces.
A hydrophobic/oleophobic coating like our NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection was conceived in such a way that deposits of pollutants are reduced to a minimum and damages from environmental influences are prevented. Through the hydrophobic/oleophobic effect of the protective coating, dirt particles such as fat and oily materials, lime and materials from environmental influences can no longer be absorbed directly through the stone surface. Dirt particles are easily removed without the need for abrasive cleaning solvents or machines. Due to its inorganic network structure, the coating is extremely durable. Along with the NewPro-Nano StonePLUS anti-graffiti protection, we offer a wide range of products to compliment the surface coating which offer an easy, hygienic and environmentally safe cleaning of the coated stone surface.

Description

NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti protection is a ready-to-use application dissolved in water. With the application of the coating, nanoscale particles are integrated into the surface texture. Through a chemical reaction, silicon-functional groups form a firm bond with the surface of the stone, which gives the stone surface a long-lasting protective effect. Other functional groups lead to a strongly distinctive hydro and oleophobia resulting in good care and performance characteristics. A coating with NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection over an existing surface coating, such as silicone or acryl (even if this protective layer is removed) does not achieve antigraffiti protection with the NewPro-Nano Stone PLUS with Graffiti Protection because the nano-coating is not able to bond itself effectively with the absorbent stone surface. The special advantage of NewPro-Nano Stone PLUS with Graffiti Protection lies in the fact the chemical reaction creates a transverse cross-linking. This transverse cross-linking achieves a pronounced sturdy two and three-dimensional network chemical structure.


Range of Application and Use

NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection can be applied to interior or exterior as well as horizontal surfaces.
Due to its formulation, NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection is suitable for absorbent silica based stone surfaces. It can, therefore, be successfully applied as a dirt-deflecting, UV-stable coating to the following stone surfaces:

  • Natural stones such as sand stone
  • Marble
  • Concrete blocks
  • Terracotta
  • Clay bricks
  • Stone panels

Beyond that, areas of application include ground and wall coverings, building facades, functional terracotta or roofing tiles.  The stone surfaces also continue active breathing after the coating.


NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection covers a broad range of applications. For this reason, we recommended conducting a test to the surface to determine suitability and sustainability. The surfaces should be coated immediately after prepurifying and touch or other contact should be avoided.

NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection offers an efficient after-care program. Damages to the surface protection with NewPro Nano StonePlus with Graffiti protection are always reparable.

 

Procedural Instructions for Use

Surface Pretreatment/Pre-cleaning:
All Surfaces must be clean, dry, sustainable and free of grease, oil and dust. 
1. Rough contamination, soiling and loose parts are to be completely removed.
By extreme contamination or grime, repeat the above-mentioned procedure if necessary.


2. NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection comes ready to use. The recommended application method is by means of a spraying device. The best results are achieved with HVLP nozzles. With these nozzles a very small droplet size can be achieved.  Application on freshly formed and damp substrates (basis) is also possible.

Application (manual spraying):
The coating surfaces must be grease-free and completely cleaned and dry prior to application. NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection should be applied in square-meter fashion to large surfaces.


For manual spraying it is to be noted that surfaces should be sprayed with a minimum of 2 processing steps, or coatings (subsequent coatings are to be sprayed while still wet). Depending upon porosity of the surface the procedure should be possibly repeated. A puddle formation on the substrate should be avoided.

1. Spray NewPro-Nano Stone PLUS with Graffiti Protection onto the surface evenly.
After initial contact to the surface NewPro-Nano Stone PLUS with Graffiti Protection immediately settles into the pores of the surface.
2. Allow the coated surface 2 - 5 minutes to dry.
3. If necessary, evenly distribute or remove unused material using a lambskin roll.


Notice:
NewPro-Nano Stone PLUS with Graffiti Protection covers a wide range of applications. For this reason, we recommend that you carry out your own test to determine the durability and stability of the product. The surfaces should be coated immediately after prepurifying and should not come into contact touch with hands or other objects.


Further Application Techniques:
In addition to spraying, dipping, brushing or lambskin rolling is also a suitable means of application. However, with these application techniques a high consumption of the product is to be expected.


Hardening Time:

  • Only a few minutes after application, NewPro-Nano StonePLUS with Graffiti Protection is dry and stabile enough that it is accessible with clean and soft footwear. 

The complete hardening process is reached with dry surfaces within 12-24 hours (ambient temperature +20° Celsius).  At other ambient temperatures a variation of the hardening times is possible.


Use:

  • Use of the material depends on the absorbency of the substrate and lies between 30 to 200 ml/m².  Thus, surfaces of 5 to 30 m² can be coated with 1 liter of the product.


Reworking/Improvement and New Coating Application:
The quality of the surface protection is designed for durability over many years. If the surface protection should nevertheless exhibit damages after longer use in exceptional cases, it can be repaired if necessary by the NewPro Nano active protection stone.


Cleaning and Care of the Coated Surface:
Due to the extraordinarily easy care of NewPro Nano StonePLUS surface a clean and maintained appearance can be achieved without aggressive cleaners and abrasive cleaning equipment. Surfaces coated with NewPro Nano StonePLUS remain unchanged in their structure and color, remain homogeneous and stable and are thereby resistant to all the usual household acids and caustic solutions. Above and beyond that, NewPro Nano StonePlus offers an effective protection against graffiti.


For routine care we recommend the use of a soft, non-scratching sponge and/or cloth with the NewPro Nano surface cleaner.  For strong contamination we usually recommend the application of the NewPro-Nano Combo Cleaner (ratio 1:30).

An efficient after-care program is available for the NewPro-Nano Stone surface protection.

Notice:
The use of very aggressive cleaning agents, such as scrubbing cleansers and/or scrubbing powders, highly concentrated discharge cleaners, armature and steel cleaners as well as powdered WC cleaners should absolutely be avoided because they can cause damage to surfaces and, thus, the surface protection too. Surface damaging and/or scrubbing cleaning equipments are likewise not be used.


The quality of the surface protection is designed for many years of durability. If the surface protection should nevertheless exhibit signs of damage after longer use in exceptional cases, it can be repaired if necessary with the use of the new pro nano active protection.


Mixing Instructions:
NewPro Nano Ston Plus with Graffiti protection comes ready to use (just add water) and can be applied directly to the surface. An admixture of foreign substances negatively affects the product properties as well as the life span of the product and the applied protective coating.


Use:
Approximately 30 to 200 ml/m².

This merely an approximate value, which can vary depending on the absorbency of the surface.
An exact amount of material needed can only be determined by a sample coating to the surface of the object.

  • 6-month storage life at ambient temperature in tightly sealed original packaging.
  • Protect against moisture, frost and heat.
  • Completely use up any open containers of materials prepared for coating.
  • Storage temperature + 4°C to + 30° Celsius

Disposal:

  • Recycle only completely emptied and cleaned containers. 
  • Dispose of the remains of the product at the local regulated/designated waste disposal site. 
  • Do not dispose of in the sewer system, drainage systems or watercourses.

 

Work Hygiene

Before breaks and at the end working with the product, wash hands thoroughly.  .  Do not eat, drink or smoke during use.  Avoid eye and skin contact with the product.  If necessary, wear protective clothing.

NewPro-Nano StonePLUS must/may not be applied or mixed together with chloric cleaning agents.  This could result in the development of poisonous vapors.
